Willie Xue Shengwei graduated from the School of Architecture of Xiamen University, studied for a Masters degree at Huaqiao University from 1995 to 1997, then enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, USA in 1996 and acquired a Masters degree of Architecture. Upon graduation, he served at the Dallas and Los Angeles offices of RTKL Associates for 13 years, as design principle, and completed numerous urban redevelopments, and urban planning and architectural designs for mega-city complexes, while collaborating with local and international developers. In 2011, he returned home and joined CAPOL  International Design Group, leading a team of experts to complete mega-urban renewal projects and architectural design of commercial complexes, including The MIXC Tiandi, Shenye UpperHills, Loho City and Hazens Guanlanhui.
