With a diploma in Graphic Design and Communication from Penninghen School in Paris, Marc Cansier co-founded Marc & Chantal after arriving Hong Kong in 1993. Since then, Cansier has established the company’s brand consultancy services and led the creative team in a range of integrated projects. The company is now a leading cross-disciplinary brand agency in Hong Kong, with a holistic approach to branding, encompassing strategic consulting, brand creation and experience design.
As Creative Director, Cansier now focuses on developing the company’s creative direction, brand strategy and place-branding functions. Building on the success of The Opposite House and East Hotel, the firm has been engaged in many hospitality projects including the hotel’s brand conceptualisation for Marriott’s Autograph Collection in Asia, creation of WEI Hotel Brands in China, and The Hari. Marc & Chantal’s most recent landmark projects like the Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage & Arts and RYSE hotel, blend together culture, retail and hospitality.
Cansier sees each brand as a fictional character; he enjoys crafting their personalities and then seeing them come to life in the real world. Cansier is also spearheading the insight and research capabilities of the company. Apart from publishing a Millennials Travel report in 2015, he has moderated Marc & Chantal’s recent discussion series on Urban Social Destinations of the Future with co-founder Marc Brulhart.
