ALASTAIR RICHARDSON – The Melbourne Way to Live and Play
Cox Principal Alastair Richardson will examine what a liveable city really means, and how this relates to where people from all walks of life come to play. He will discuss the place in the heart of the city and her people of Melbourne and Olympic Park, perhaps the world’s pre-eminent sporting precinct, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the jewel in the crown of Melbourne as a globally recognised sporting destination. Alastair will look at the Melbourne experience through the lens of the interface of architecture, urban design and city building, how it can be translated and what the opportunities are for other global cities.

CLARE COUSINS – Nightingale Village
Overview of Nightingale Village and design approach of CCA Nightingale Village building.

MARTIN PROBST – High 5 in the Sky

The presentation will reflect on how to achieve liveability at high density and through transformation of existing cities. “High 5 in the Sky”, our winning entry into the Walk DVRC design competition, will be the guiding line of the talk. The talk will feature further work of our team in the UK, the Netherlands and in Shenzhen. The initiative “Walk DVRC” aims to transform Des Voeux Road Central into a dynamic public realm worthy of a city of Hong Kong’s image and status. Walk DVRC’s mission includes linking this critical artery to the cultural and heritage sites that surround it.
